Aerocene: Exploring Earth’s Atmosphere with Solar BalloonsFamily friendly - adult with child image.

Collaborated With: Arts at MIT

Scientists in Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences have joined forces with The MIT Center for Art, Science & Technology's visiting artist Tomás Saraceno to confront Earth's climate crisis. The result is an exhibition inspired by solar balloons and meteorological data that explores the Earth’s stratosphere and its chemical constituents. Saraceno’s air-fuelled sculptures will be presented together with meteorological data and simulations of potential flight tracking on the iGlobe spherical display. During the Open House, visitors are invited to choose launch points and climate data to display where the balloons will go. Can you send the balloon back to Paris?
