Beginning in late February and concluding in June, MIT’s Century in Cambridge celebration featured both academic and commemorative programming. MIT invited its global community of friends, including friends and neighbors in Cambridge and beyond, to attend scheduled events, which are detailed in the listings below.

MIT alumni, faculty, students, and staff raised a glass to the next hundred years at an evening celebration that included fireworks, dancing and live music, and desserts by The Sweet Lobby and Winnette McIntosh Ambrose ’98 (winner of Cupcake Wars 2011).

The Institute community and friends were invited to begin the celebration with a reception for the opening of Imagining New Technology: Building MIT in Cambridge, a special exhibition at the MIT Museum.
