MIT.nano: Building the Laboratory of the FutureFamily friendly - adult with child image.

What is that giant, half-built octopus of steel in the middle of MIT? In 2018 (when it’s finished), MIT.nano will be the largest laboratory on campus. Dedicated to seeing, understanding, and manipulating matter on the nano scale (that’s one 100,000th the thickness of a human hair), MIT.nano will be a 200,000 square-foot crucible of experimentation and creativity in which the next generation of materials, products, and tools will be discovered and take shape. Whether you’re interested in the details of construction, or the science and engineering that will to happen in the building once it’s open, experts will be on hand to answer all of your questions.
