Moving Day accessibility
All are invited to participate in Moving Day at MIT! The festivities comprise three events: a parade to cross the Charles at 2 pm, a pageant in Killian Court at 8 pm, and dance parties following the pageant at 9:30 pm. If you require a disability-related reasonable accommodation, please indicate your need here—details about Moving Day are being finalized and we will be back in touch before May 7. Thank you!
A few things to know:
-
If you use a wheelchair and will join the parade over to Boston and back, there is no need to let us know in advance. Everyone will move together.
-
Killian Court is wheelchair-accessible for pageant-goers. There are entrances with ramps from Buildings 3 and 4, as well as sidewalks along the edges of the court. Reaching the seating areas will require crossing the grass. Unless there is something you would prefer to tell us in advance, there is no need to complete this form.
-
The pageant will include pyrotechnics.
-
There will be assistive listening devices and a text stream to mobile devices at the pageant.
-
The dance party venues are wheelchair-accessible. As with the pageant, terrain is a combination of sidewalks and grass.
-
There will be accessible parking on campus for those with state-issued placards/ID cards. Shuttles will be running throughout the day and evening.
