A World from a Sheet of Paper
"Starting from just a sheet of paper, by folding, stacking, crumpling, and tearing, we will explore a rich variety of phenomena, from geometry and magic tricks to elasticity and the traditional Japanese art of origami. The science comes from the inspiring works of Demaine, Mahadevan, and others (all with MIT connections). Much of the lecture consists of actual table-top demos, which you can try later with friends and family."
